Sam Sulek Criticism, Korean Baki vs Cbum, and the UN's Meat Plot

Lot of lifter oppression and tension this week.

Powered by

GM,

Today I’m trying to redeem myself for last week’s newsletter. Luckily, we’ve got much more to talk about including Sam Sulek, Chris Bumstead’s kidney operation, the Korean Baki, and Joshua Schall with more news in the world of CPG and G Fuel.

The big project this last week was my video on the UN’s new meat guidelines. Obviously, a headline that garnered a lot of reactions; but I wanted to look at what it really means for normal people. Long story short, there’s not too much to worry about, for now.

The elites tried their hardest to keep it away from us. They even had the original manufacturer take Crystal Pump’s money and run. Sick shit, but we are back, despite the horrors.

If you’re looking for a preworkout that emphasizes clean caffeine, mental clarity, and sick pumps, check out this week’s sponsor: Crystal Pump.

Some of the Monday Iron gang have already tried it and loved it, give it a shot. Orders ship the week of Nov 6.

It’s not a preworkout, it’s an experience.

Thank you mustache man, let’s get into this week.

Lee Priest Defends Sam Sulek

Sam Sulek became a topic of discussion on a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, which prompted YouTube creator Jon Bravo to make a commentary video questioning why Sam Sulek “gets a pass,” when it comes to PED use when other fitness athletes face much harsher criticism.

In response to Jon Bravo’s video, Priest took to Instagram to push back against Jon Bravo’s take and question if Sam Sulek does get a pass on PED use.

From my perspective, Sam has definitely not been shielded from criticism regarding PEDs or his diet (Look at anything on Greg Doucette’s page).

This was Lee’s Repsonse:

Kali Muscle’s New Bit (Starving)

Don’t know if anyone has checked in on Kali Muscle lately, but I think bro is unwell.

Our boy is doing 11 day fasts and breaking those fasts with breast milk. Based, sure; but far away from the Kali we watched a long time ago.

Kali’s been on the YouTube grind for awhile now, since 2008, which is an insane amount of time to be doing YouTube, especially with the majority of that being full time.

I looked back at some of the old stuff I remember watching, found a classic collab with the absolute boys, the Hodgetwins. I remember making this Pepsi/Instant coffee combo with my friend back in the day.

This Hyphy Burrito video is also burned in my brain.

“Korean Baki” Qualifies for Olympia

Ji Hoon Bang, also known as “Korean Baki,” won the 2023 Korea Pro Bodybuilding Show (Barbend) during the weekend of Nov 11-12, qualifying him for the Olympia stage.

This came across my radar from NEWSCHOOL AESTHETICS on IG, with a side by side of himself and Chris Bumstead.

@nsl_aesthetics

While the post was met with some hostility from fans for even comparing the two, I don’t think it’s an outrageous comparison. This dude looks pretty fucking set already, even as an amateur (now pro).

Both athletes have similar frames and conditioning according to the photos, but only time will tell if Ji can go point-for-point with Chris at the Olympia.

Chris Bumstead’s Stem Cell Operation

Coming off of his 5th Olympia Victory, Chris Bumstead has put his body through a lot over his career.

Earlier this year, Chris kept his audience updated on his torn bicep recovery after the 2022 Olympia, in which he used peptides PPC157, TB500, and stem cell injections to aid recovery.

Currently, Chris is under the care of Dr. Adeel Khan, a regenerative medicine specialist who is administering his current stem cell treatment for his kidneys.

For Chris, it’s not like he has chronic kidney disease. He’s not even really close to that but he wants to prevent it from his mild dysfunction getting worse. Instead of just saying ‘let’s watch and wait and see if it gets worse,’ this is a preventative thing and it’s a relatively simple procedure and it’s a one-time thing and it can have a huge impact on reversing the mild damage and getting back to normal function.

Ronaldo Sued Over Crypto Losses

Christiano Ronaldo joins other top athletes and organizations involved in lawsuits over promoting various cryptocurrency exchanges.

Specifically, Ronaldo is being sued for promoting Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange that is under-investigation/pending settlement over money laundering charges.

Binance is being sued for illicit activities after failing to report over 100,000 suspicious transactions that the U.S describes as terrorist groups including Hamas, al Qaeda, and ISIS (Reuters).

I personally think crypto has always been a racket, but I don’t feel bad for the three dudes suing mf Ronaldo. If they’re suing one of the biggest sports stars in the world and it’s only those three included in the class-action, they’re probably still loaded.

I’ve lost plenty of money gambling with trading, and I never blamed anyone else for it. I hope you they lose the money specifically because Ronaldo endorsed it. You three deserve it.

Joshua Schall: “G Fuel Invites the Suits”

CPG Veteran Joshua Schall reports on G Fuel’s new investment from private equity firms Kingswood Capital and First Bev. In addition to that, Bryan Crowley, who previously worked with Casa Azul Spirits and Soylent, will now take over as G Fuel’s CEO.

Joshua lets us in on the background of Gamma Labs which includes its shift into the gamer market (it didn’t start that way), looking back at his previous G Fuel predictions, and what could be next for G Fuel after this investment.

FRANCE BANS SMOKING: IT’S JOEVER

Truly, the West has fallen. If you can’t smoke in France, can anyone really smoke anywhere?

France is set to ban smoking on all beaches, public parks, forests, and other public areas as a part of a national anti-tobacco plan presented by the health minister on Tuesday.

“Tobacco products cause 75,000 avoidable deaths a year in France, Minister of Health and Prevention Aurélien Rousseau said on BFM television. The government will introduce legislation at the start of next year to enlarge the scope of places where fines can be levied for smoking.”

Aurélien Rousseau

Not that I would ever set foot in France, but I don’t want to live in a world where I can’t smoke a Marlboro Red outside.

This is literally 1984.

UN Set to Drop New Meat Guidelines

Yes, they’re at it again. The lizard people are making more suggestions, some stronger than others, to limit meat consumption, particularly in North America. But this time, they actually want to increase meat consumption in other areas. Very strange.

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will release its “Global Food Systems Road Map” during the COP28 summit in December with the stated goal of “lowering projected global temperatures to 1.5C.”

I originally got this story from Valutainment; but as I learned the hard way with that site, I have to go a few sources back to double check. Especially once I see, “it is being reported” without saying who is reporting. I fully trust the integrity of their founder and the PBD Podcast team, but the individual writers on VT cannot borrow that credibility.

So I went back to the Bloomberg article, which was written in a relatively neutral tone.

I go over the whole article in the latest episode of the Rafi’s Desk podcast, because there are definitely some fucky things going on and there are things we have to watch out for, but it’s not as doom and gloom as the headlines make it out to be. Yet.

Full episode is available on YouTube and Spotify. Feedback can be submitted via YT comments or Spotify Q&A..

Rafi’s Desk

Trying to keep on that podcast grind, I like doing the shorter 1-2 topics ones, hopefully will do the extend episodes every once in a while. Something I noticed last week was a couple companies extending their Cyber Monday sales into mf Wednesday, which is absurd. Not to mention the tsunami of emails I kept getting, again, on a WEDNESDAY for a CYBER MONDAY EXTENSION.

I’m assuming some sales just didn’t go well given economic conditions, but who knows; just thought it was interesting.

Speaking of economic conditions, I’ve got a great recession recipe for Lifter Soup. You just need 4 eggs, ground beef, green beans, Ramen Noodles, and the ramen flavor packet it came with.

Boil the eggs, let em cook for a few minutes, toss in the noodles, add flavoring, add beef, let it cook for about 5 minutes or so.

My green beans are frozen so I add them in after I put the Lifter Soup in a bowl to cool it down.

I hope you guys are trying to end the year strong, or at least are planning for next year. I fumbled the bag massively over the last couple of months inside and outside of the account, and my car is fucked for a bit now so we are not having a good time.

But it’s been alright because I’ve pretty much written off this quarter and am just trying to plan to have a strong 2024. Going into next year with better relationships, good friends, and control over my vices; I’ve got a great feeling about this year.

Jokes aside, I’m really looking forward to what I make happen next year with the help of the absolute boys (you). Tomorrow is Monday, give your best.
